Kathryn Ellis
Specialist Neuro Physiotherapist
I qualified as a physiotherapist in 2007, gaining my BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy degree from Keele University. I then completed a further Masters module in neuromuscular anatomy before taking up my first post as a Junior Physiotherapist. I completed my junior rotations at the Royal Stoke University Hospital, gaining a broad range of experience in a variety of different specialities.
During this time I realised that I wanted to specialise within the field of neurological rehabilitation and in 2012 I started working as a Specialist Physiotherapist in a role that was split between acute neurosurgery and critical care. The following year I started a new role within a different NHS Trust working as a Specialist Physiotherapist in neurological rehabilitation, covering both in and outpatient settings.
I have completed introductory modules to the Bobath Concept and have attended a Bobath workshop focusing on ataxia management. I have also completed the necessary training to both assess for and treat neurological conditions with Functional Electrical Stimulation.
