Specialist Neuro Occupational Therapist
I am a specialist neuro occupational therapist with over 15 years experience working in private practice and the NHS. I have gained a wide range of experience in acute health and rehabilitation settings, in more recent years specialising in neurological rehabilitation working with patients with brain injury, spinal injury, stroke and complex trauma. Specialist skills and experience in cognitive rehabilitation, neurological splinting and casting, prolonged disorders of consciousness and complex seating and postural assessment.
I also have 7 years experience of supporting people with permanent disability and long term conditions as a Senior Wheelchair Therapist. With skills in assessing and prescribing manual and powered wheelchairs, pressure cushions and specialist seating.
I am passionate about supporting people to achieve optimal independence and function, with a varied specialist skill base to enable and engage people to live their best life.
I have completed specialised neurological training including Bobath modules, the stroke school, breathing and postural control, spasticity management, ACT, behaviour management training as well as splinting and casting training.
